Aerials

The Freeview experience starts with your aerial. If it's not capable of pulling in a good signal, there's not much you can add at the other end of the coaxial cable to improve things. You need to check to see if you're in a strong, weak or poor reception area. Make sure your aerial is pointed correctly and there are no obstructions in the way, such as trees, hills or buildings. If you have an older model, you may even need to replace it with a Wideband (Group W) model. An indoor aerial generally will only work if you are in a strong coverage area. Anything you can do, such as pointing it towards a window, etc. can help, but whenever possible, try to use an outdoor antenna for your best chance of receiving the Freeview signal.
